So Chris Christie has promised to veto a marriage equality bill if it reaches his desk. A bill that will have been passed by both houses of the New Jersey Legislature in a prime example of representative democracy. Christie had already said he'd prefer that the issue be put to a referendum instead, where it would doubtlessly be subjected to the irrational, homophobic whims of people like him. So for Chris Christie, who will call you "numb nuts" and bully you if you disagree with him, he'd prefer that your civil rights pass through a gauntlet of the majority first, subjected to their sanctimonious slings and arrows. And if you take the other route prescribed under the state's Constitution -- which is no less difficult and torturous, BTW -- hey, fuck you, Chris Christie will veto that shit anyway. Chris Christie doesn't really give a shit about you. Doesn't matter that who you love is none of his God-damned business.
